White Hat SEO-Basics of On-page and Off-page Optimization

White hat SEO is literally white i.e. it’s totally ethical. When a webmaster optimizes his blog, following a search engine’s terms and privacy that is called white hat SEO. Here, you must remember one thing, “create your content unique for the people but not for the search engines”. It includes the following two factors-

On-page SEO

The optimization process which is executed within your website or blog is known as on-page optimization. When you will build or design your website, you have to optimize your site so that search engines can recognize you and people can find you from different engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Msn, Ask and so on. Even though, when you will submit your individual content, you have to optimize your content, it can be your text, photos or videos.  All of these are the parts of on-page optimization which are known as the backbone of SEO.


It includes Keywords, Meta tags, Meta description, Header tags, Sitemap submission, Image optimization etc.  Experts say that it is about 20% of your total SEO, so be aware of do it. If you do any mistake during this optimization process, then you will not get any visitors from search engines and you can not achieve your goal as well. You may think, without proper on-page optimization, your off-page optimization also will be fruitless.

Off-page SEO    

The optimization process which is occurred outside of your website or blog is named as off-page optimization. It is the most inevitable factor for webmasters because it is the most effective and proved way to drive instant traffic to your desired site. It also contributes to increase your website’s page rank. It includes Social Networking, Social Bookmarking, Link Building, Back Linking, Anchor Text, Article Submission, Blog Commenting, Forum Posting, RSS Submission, Directory Submission, Image Posting, Video Posting, and Guest Blogging and so on. Now I will give you a comparative example that ensures its importance.

If you are a newbie blogger, then you will not get visitors from the search engines and without off-page optimization, there is no other ways to drive traffic to your site. Thus you can also increase you page rank.

But if you are an expert blogger and you have a high page ranked website, then you will get lots of traffic from search engines but if you will give up off-page optimization, then your page rank will fall, that means your nearest competitors will cross you and search engines will not drive traffic as before.
